About Me.

Thank you for visiting my website, it may help you to know a little about me so here we go.

As long as I can remember I am at my happiest if I can help and support people.

Some of my working life has enabled me to do this too. I have been a Nursery Nurse, Hospice Palliative Care Assistant a Reiki Practitioner and a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Family Liaison Officer and Counsellor.

With over a decade of experience as a Family Liaison Officer and Counsellor this has allowed me to develop strong communication, empathy and problem solving skills, which I bring to my practice; I have worked with individuals, couples and families on a wide range of issues, including grief and loss, relationship difficulties and mental health concerns.

I take a client-centered approach, tailoring my work to meet the unique needs of each individual.

When I am not supporting people my other interests are gardening on my wonderful allotment, which is my link to nature where I can relax and recharge  and calm my mind.

I also find calmness by crafting , cooking and baking cakes for friends and family.

Now you know a little about me have a look at my website and see if I can support and guide you with your problem.

Sometimes in our lives, we can walk a path where a gate stops us in our tracks, not knowing where we want to go , or how to get there or when we will be able to open the gate. It often helps to have someone who can help you walk forward and show you what is possible beyond. I am here to listen, guide and explore your thoughts and goals, working together anything is possible. You will need to want to change your life path and changing your mindset is not always easy but my aim will be to support you with achievable goals.

Bereavement Support

The loss of a loved one is sadly something we will all experience at some point in our lives. But this does not mean we are prepared for the impact of the loss. We are all unique and how this will change our lives affects us all differently. Sometimes we can get stuck in grief and need someone to hold our hand and listen to our grief anger and memories to help us move forward.

Often talking to an outsider can enable us to take the steps to heal our pain.

Pet Bereavement Support

Losing a pet is like losing a friend they have become part of your life and routine giving you companionship and unconditional love. Some may feel that pet loss cannot be compared to human loss, but it can and it does. You may feel silly asking for the support for the loss of a pet but it is important to acknowledge the pain you feel for your animal friend. Talking to someone will help you to share your thoughts and memories and will allow you to open up about your thoughts and feelings how ever difficult it may be I can be here for you.

We will use the mind and body connection to self heal

I can teach you a range of techniques to reduce your pain and and improve your wellbeing and to introduce a sense of positivity into your life.

I myself am living with Fibromyalgia/M.E and Arthritis which is why i wanted to study and understand the concept of pain management, I wanted to help myself and have found this very helpful so wanted to share the techniques I have found useful with others who suffer daily.

Invisible pain also is very hard to live with but I have found effective ways with my training to help with this in my daily life and intend to support others to gain a positive mindset.

Meditation Scroll

A meditation scroll or slow stitching scroll is a small hand stitched strip of fabric that is wrapped around a wooden spool.

The core concept is to use a repetitive act of hand stitching as a tool to enable mindfulness and a sense of calm and focus. This activity can be used to reduce stress and promote peace.

Benifits

It is a relaxing and therapeutic activity

A mindful act to reduce stress

A great way to recycle scraps of fabric

Gives you 'time for you'

What you need

Cotton Reel (empty)

Length off fabric (mine is 55'' long and width of cotton reel

Scraps of fabric

Different colour sewing cottons

Needle

Scissors

Glue

Ribbon or cord

Instructions

Put some glue on empty reel, cover with the start of long piece of fabric, leave to dry.

Start sewing on scraps of choice, go with how you feel, your mood, the feeling of the fabrics, the pattern, whatever feels right for you at this moment in time.

I use a running stitch can be vertical, horizontal or mix them both to secure the scraps; this is your scroll be as creative as you wish.

I like bright fun patterns but you may prefer plain patterns or pastel colours.

There is no set time to spend on your scroll, you will feel when you want to stop, there is no rush to finish. It is an activity that you can return to especially if you need some calm reflective time in your life.

Do take time as you return to activity to look back over your scroll each time, notice the colours and patterns you have chosen, the textures of fabrics, this mindfulness time will clear your mind and calm you peacefully

Continue at your own pace until scroll is complete, add some scrap ribbon or cord to wrap the scroll safely to revisit whenever you like.

When you are ready start another one with new scraps, new colours, you are in control.

Express yourself

Calm yourself

Allow time to pass

Feel your mood lift
